The Steve Fund is leading a movement to support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young people of color.

Together with leaders across higher education, business, research and mental health, The Steve Fund is working to ensure that every young person of color can access the resources and skills they need to achieve their full potential at home, in school and at work.

The Steve Fund’s experts come from the communities it serves. Through culturally competent strategies, the organization creates social and institutional environments that value the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young people of color, as well as inclusive communities to ensure that every young person of color is fully supported by peers, family, schools and employers.

impact

Stigma, misinformation and racial disparities keep many young people of color from getting the help they need to thrive. Research shows that 75% of mental health disorders emerge by age 24—and that young people of color are both disproportionately affected and significantly under-resourced. In fact, Black and Latinx youth are 14% less likely than white youth to receive depression treatment. The Steve Fund is taking meaningful action to address this.
